My 6th grade teacher used to let us listen to the 1957 playoffs on radio for the last half hour of school when the games were on. I guess they played some games in the afternoons then. Johnny Most was a great announcer. She loved the Celts and it was a perfect time to indoctrinate us: their first championship. I think she was trying to fill out the school squad really. When I tried out for the team in 7th grade we only had 4 players most of the time but we practiced anyway, never to play a game.

(I assume that’s the globe board, bostondotcom was it?) I may have posted once or twice under a name my well aged neurons completely forget.
I’ve lived in the Hawaiian low canopy rainforest since moving from NH in 1980.
Hope you don’t mind me switching avatars a bit till I settle on one. This one was the 1957 Champs.

How cool you live in a Hawaiian rainforest. Kauai?

I love jungle myself. My best trips have been to Borneo, northern Thailand and Iquitos in the Peruvian Amazon. Monte Carlo is NOT on my list of destinations (although I do love Paris and the rest of France).

It's not what most people expect; low canopy Hawaiian vs. immense canopy Brazil etc. are night and day. We call it jungle but instead of impenetrable vines and stuff it's impassable lava hiding beneath the greenery.

The one time I was on the big island I loved it...but it rained our last 2 days, like I've never seen it rain before...including el nino in norcal....must have been nearly 18 inches in some spots....but I guess that's how you keep it so green.
