Is DA on the titanic or something?
Guess I'll wait till the smoke settles and see who's left standing.

Re: Perk Trade Actuality!
ORL is DOA. Probably won't make it out of the first round. Let's face it. If you can't beat SAC at home, their trades didn't work. They are at best a 4th seed. If NYK pass them or ATL they're toast. This will only work if we're the 1st seed. If we drop to 2nd (or 3rd) we won't see them at all. It doesn't look like we are counting on ORL to be a problem.

Re: Perk Trade Actuality!
seems like DA is counting on some buyouts happening (Troy Murphy, Sam Dalembert are both rumoured) and counting on landing a big that way. It's fools gold IMO. We don't need Mikki Moore 2.0 to happen.

THat makes no sense. Why give up Erden ? Young, cheap, good player when you're already running out of bigs ?
I don't get it.

Well that would make some sense in terms of Cs management feeling comfortable enough to make these deals, but wow. What a risk.

Where's BobH? Probably drinking my beer. Can't blame him.
I think Matty's on the right track. This is such a frenzy at the trading deadline with so many scenarios being tossed around, it's probably best to let the dust settle and come back to it later.

I'm a big Perk fan as well, but I can't stand to keep seeing him catch the ball in the paint and bring it down to dribble again, get hacked and brick one or two of two. It has never worked out. How hard is it for a 26 year old with all the time in the world on his hands over the last 9 months to learn to keep the ball up above his head? I think I saw him do it one time since he's been back.

Re: Perk Trade Actuality!
This is a tough one. C’s get better at the 3/4 – lose ground at the 5.
If the Celtics Blog on Boston.com is correct, and “the Celtics sensed issues with re-signing him for the long term” – and Danny can bring in another big body to play the 5 – then this is a deal am happy with.
Plain and simple, Jeff Green is a STUD and averages 16 and 6 and is the versatile player we need to back up Pierce AND/OR KG.
The key is in finding someone to play the 5 and match up with Dwight Howard / Andrew Bynum – and I fear that is going be a lot harder than DA thinks. At the same time, they just supercharged their offense off the bench….Green is a bonafied star of the future – and putting him along side Rondo and Baby, they have a promising nucleus.
I am torn.

Perhaps it will unleash the hounds a bit more too. What we loose on D we gain and hopefully more than gain on Offense.
Be interesting to watch the game this eve.........and we thought things in Denver were muddy!

It would be nice for us to pull an Ilgauskas on this, though. We did get two starters for our one and Rally Killer Nate.

Yes, it is a shocker. But let's wait until smoke clears out.
At this moment the only positive gleamer is, IMO, that DA thinks that O'Neals will be ok by playoffs. Otherwise why would he give up Perk and SE for Nenad.

Re: Perk Trade Actuality!
Well, one can't blame DA...the pressure to win has driven him "mad"...I'm really surprised... This is what I was afraid of...Doing something just to do something... Unless there is some rabbit he's about to pull out of his hat, this is...well... very surprising.
Folks in LA, Miami, NY, Chicago, San Antonio, especially Orlando...etc. etc. must be pretty dang happy about this move...may not make Celtic fans happy but he made some NBA fans happy...
