Re: 2019 NBA Draft
I would have been ok with Jerome to keep in place of the guys we drafted. At least he fit a need. 3.5 assists to 1 turnover.

Tonight has been very disappointing all around. We haven't addressed any needs so far.

sure hope he is a stud with a name like Romeo. Ha. He may turn out to be a sleeper, who knows. He sure wasn't on any mock drafts that i saw.

Re: 2019 NBA Draft
Can't wait to see Carson Edwards rebounding against Bruno Fernandes. I would have preferred someone even littler, like Landry, for the comic effect, but Edwards is pretty small. Sure glad we drafted for need instead of talent. I've been waiting for Danny to shore up our center position. So glad he got Edwards to address our need at the 5, especially with Baynes gone..
Re: 2019 NBA Draft
If a goal of this draft was to get players who get to the ft line, they did that with Langford, Edwards, and Williams.

Equal time and To Be Fair Departments.
Grades and commentary on Celtics draft and state of the Celtics are all over the place this morning. I've seen grades as high as A on widely covered wire services, and others saying it's time to hang Ainge and Stevens.
Eye of the beholder at this point.

Re: 2019 NBA Draft
At this point, we’re just seeing a snapshot of this offseason, specifically depth options who we haven’t seen against nba competition and our FA losses. Things could look very different in a couple of weeks and then again in September.NYCelt wrote:Equal time and To Be Fair Departments.

Re: 2019 NBA Draft
So far after reading and seeing video I like what Danny did, I like first 3 picks, all good productive players with talent and potential that should help our young core. None of these bigs in this draft impressed him enough to not be a project and we already have one in RW. I have no problem fishing for bigs in the FA market. I wouldn’t give Al a 4 year 80-100 million contract at this point in his career.

I agree with everything you posted. I just want to focus in the part in bold. There were no bigs available to us in the draft that didn't have "PROJECT" written all over their foreheads. So the draft turned out to be more about filling other needs and/or best player available.
It takes about three years to tell if a draft was successful or not, so we'll have to wait and see.
And yeah, the 4 year $100M contract is a bridge too far.
