The Lakers could move up in the draft on lottery day into the top 3 and if they don't then win the lottery we get their pick because it would be #2 or #3. It's a longshot but I've seen it happen a bunch of times that a team in the 10-11-12 spot moves into the top 3 via the ping pong balls.

Even if that doesn't happen and the pick reverts back to Philly this year, we still get Sacramento's first round pick provided it isn't the first overall pick. So it's wrong to say "we will get nothing to speak of with it."

Yes if we miss out on the LAL pick we get the better of the Philly or Sacto pick top one protected.  Likely to be Sacto as they stink.  That could be a high lottery pick for 2019.
